Mgeu Collective Agreement 2020

Members of Willow Place – Local 160, which provides important services and support to women and children in Manitoba in managing domestic violence and abuse, ratified a new two-year agreement last week. MGEU/NUPGE members at AFM provide a wide range of addiction support services for thousands of Manitobans across the province. Negotiations began in 2014 and, after a long and difficult round of bargaining, union members and the employer reached a preliminary agreement in February. The National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) has announced the recipients of its scholarships for 2020 and a Manitoban is on this year`s list. Jessica Lohr, whose mother, Lidia Lohr, is a member of local 135`s MGEU, is receiving the 2020 Brian Fudge Memorial Scholarship. Members of Australian Lab Services – Local 166, which provides environmental assessment services, including expert analyses of air, soil, sediment and water, yesterday ratified a new four-year agreement. Now that the treaty is ratified, the MGEU bargaining committee will meet with its employer to finalize the details of the contract and sign the agreement so that it can be printed and distributed to members. The new contract provides for widespread salary increases each year, improvements in the health expenditure account, the introduction of a directly remunerated medical prescription plan and job security provisions for the duration of the agreement. The contract applies from 30 March 2014 to 23 March 2019. Last week, MGEU informed health workers (HCAs) that the union and the Provincial Secretariat of Health Relations (PHLRS) had agreed to a temporary agreement to assist members disturbed by a lack of staff.
